EXPERIENCE CAPE TOWN’S OLDEST TOWNSHIP
WITH A QUALIFIED LOCAL GUIDE

Siviwe Tours specializes in eye-opening guided tours of Langa, Cape Town’s oldest black township. On a typical walking tour, you’ll see four different housing and socio-economic areas, including worker hostels and informal settlements.

You will get the chance to greet residents along the way in our language, called isiXhosa.

We also try to incorporate cultural entertainment, including traditional music and gumboots dance – which is an after school programme called Happy Feet Youth Project for local children in Langa Township.

We’re more than happy to tailor township tours to your needs. If you are interested in history, art, music, education, social issues, or health care, we’re happy to customise your tour to suit.

iThuba Innovation Hub Fund

Since 2015, iThuba Innovation Hub’s mission has been to engage the Langa community in future technologies, innovative problem solving and to introduce STEM programmes to young people through educational opportunities and experiences. The organization aims to solve the problem of preparing students for success in a technology-driven future when they live in an under-resourced community. Children growing up in the townships are naturally creative, curious problem solvers, and iThuba is driven to harness the children’s strengths and prepare them for success in the future.

Your support will be incredibly helpful in aiding each of the iThuba Innovation Hub STEM and after school programmes to continue running successfully.
